History of the hospital

Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, said: “Know that the needs of people are from the grace of God upon you, do not be bored of the blessings so it will turn to others.”

History of the hospital

The “Third of Shaban” Hospital was established by seven benevolent young men , in 1968 in “ Abmangal” area  on “ Martyr Razavi Kany” Street. After they established the “Imam Hussein Lovers Association (PBUH)” , and they wrote at the top of their list of goals that this association was formed in order to do charitable work and it is of public interest that does not seek material profit, including the establishment and management of medical centers. Based on the words of the late Sayyed Mousavi: “People visits and encouragement of us make us to ask the ministry of health to come and see the building with the aim of issuing the official license to establish a clinic as soon as possible. The experts who came, said that this building was too big for a clinic. So, if you follow our suggestion, you might be able to convert it into a fifty-bed hospital, so we welcomed this offer. Due to the increase in the number of clients, the board of directors of this association decided to proceed with proper planning attracting as much as possible with people's efforts and the help of charities to expand and convert the "Third of Shaban" clinic into a 200-bed hospital. Fifty years after its setting up, the area of the "Third of Shaban" Charitable Hospital is 11,000 square meters of infrastructure. It also contains various specialized departments with 200 beds, this led to the hospital being accredited as one of the oldest charitable hospitals in Tehran, which provides high quality medical care to needy patients in the south of Tehran.
